Our story

Our history
Udder Delights is a South Australian artisan cheese producer that began from humble beginnings. It started with the dream that Trevor and Estelle Dunford had in 1995 with farming a small patch of land in the Adelaide Hills. Their desire was to build a wholesome lifestyle with a raspberry and fig farm, which led to a couple of goats to eat the cane clippings. Estelle and Trevor Dunford milked the goats ‘Nora and Nell’ and sold the small amount of milk and goats cheese on the side… not knowing that Udder Delights was about to be born.
As demand grew, Udder Delights expanded its range beyond goat cheese to include cow milk cheeses, as well as a broader line of gourmet products such as crackers and accompaniments. Over time, it built a strong reputation across Australia for premium artisan products while maintaining a focus on local ingredients and sustainable practices.
Today, Udder Delights is recognised as one of Australia’s leading specialty cheese brands, with products distributed nationally in supermarkets and gourmet retailers. Despite its growth, the company has retained its original ethos of craftsmanship and quality, continuing to produce cheeses that reflect both traditional methods and the rich dairy heritage of the Adelaide Hills region.

Udder Delights cheese factory
Deep in the heart of the Adelaide Hills, tucked away in the valley township of Lobethal is where the magic happens.
Our charming cheese factory resides within the historic walls of the Onkaparinga Woollen Mill that has stood since 1872. Once a manufacturing hub for quality textiles – now a new source of employment to the surrounding community and the birthplace of our handmade artisan cheese.
Our cheese is made by people and our local community is a huge focus of how and why we do business. Our staff base has continuously grown over the years, and we are lucky to have a fun-loving team that is made up of talented cheesemakers, wrappers/packers, warehouse workers, and our management team. Our team’s mission is to create exceptional Australian cheese and make it accessible to as many of our fellow Australian’s as possible.
